Hosting a Dance

Each dance requires hosts who will welcome attendees as they arrive for the dance. The set of tasks that a dance host will carry out are listed below.

Before the Dance

1. Choose a theme for the dance.

2. Decide about a centerpiece that goes with your theme that you can put on each table.

3. Purchase dessert, if venue is not providing, and a small amount of candy for each table. Stay within the budget specified by the Host Coordinator.

4. If needed for the venue, arrange to pickup or have brought early to the dance the laundered reception tablecloth, tablecloths, and napkins.

At the Dance

At the dance, you will be sitting at the reception table to greet the arriving members and guests. You can get a preview of your responsibilities at the dance on the Dance Hosts Task list. This list will also be available on the night of the dance to remind you of your responsibilities.
